Hey folks,

I was wondering if anybody had some good suggestions as to good acoustic pickups for mandolins. I just got a new mandolin that sounds a whole lot better than my old mando-in-a-box, and I'd like to get something better than what I've been using. My old pickup is an cheap stick-on type that was only about ten bucks. Anybody got any suggestions on what works or where to find more info? I play in a band so I need something that will allow me to be heard over those noisy guitar-player types. Thanks.

I've heard good things about the McIntyre pickups, but they cost a pretty penny. Less expensive, but still pretty good are the Fishman pickups. I've got a Fishman in my mando and am satisfied with it, though I'll probably be buying a McIntyre soon. I'd also recommend getting a pre-amp if you want to be able to finangle with your volume and tone.

MacIntyre Pickups, I understand they are the best accoustic pickups going.
